Dr. Becky Weinshilboum is from Rochester, MN. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University and did postgraduate study at Mansfield College, Oxford University. She earned her medical degree from the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Brenner Children’s Hospital/Baptist Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She practiced for 16 years in Winston Salem prior to joining the practice in 2014.
Dr. Shayne Bates was born in Huntington, WV and grew up in the Washington DC metro area. He received his undergraduate degree from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, and his medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. His residency was completed at Brenner Children’s Hospital/Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He practiced for 6 years in Virginia and North Carolina prior to joining the practice in 2015.
Dr. Karyn Gordon received her Undergraduate and Medical Degrees from University of California. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s National Medical Center/George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr.Gordon is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She practiced in Winston-Salem, N.C., since 1998 and also served as a Clinical Associate Professor at WFU School of Medicine. She practiced for several years in Winston-Salem before joining the practice in 2017.
Rachel Mills, PNP is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience. She was born and raised in the Triad. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Master's of Science in Nursing with a concentration in child health/PNP from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She has taught many nursing students and served as a preceptor for pediatric nurse practitioner students. Rachel has three adult children and a sweet labradoodle named Josie. In her spare time she enjoys being active, playing pickleball and traveling.
Sharon Allen, CPNP is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Sharon grew up in the Winston-Salem area. She received her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Winston-Salem State, her Master of Science degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Sharon brings her 10 years of Pediatric ICU nursing experience and 3 years as a pediatric provider with her as she joins High Point Pediatrics.
Cynthia Edwards, LCSW joined our practice in July of 2021. She has a BA in Psychology from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Masters in Social Work from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After working 15 years to create and manage the community mental health center in Archdale, Cindy opened a private practice there in 2005. Cindy has focused her work towards treating children and adolescents as well as being passionate about serving first responders.
