SICK VISIT UPDATE:
We are seeing sick children in the afternoon. Currently, our office is fully stocked with rapid strep throat tests, rapid flu tests, and respiratory viral panel tests to see if your child is positive for any of these illnesses.
We have had some questions regarding the RVP or respiratory viral panel. The RVP checks for different viral illnesses that could be causing your child to have fever, body aches, chills, headache, sore throat, cough, congestion, nasal drainage, and other symptoms. The RVP takes approximately 1-hour to run and to determine your child’s results. It does not test for coronavirus or covid-19, but this test greatly helps our providers further clarify your child’s illness. If the RVP is positive for a viral illness, then we can safely say that your child does not have covid-19. Most insurance companies are paying for these tests.
High Point Pediatrics is happy to serve your child if they are feeling sick and we are working diligently to ensure that our office is safe and effective to meet your child’s needs during this time. Please call our office to schedule an appointment and don’t forget that we are doing virtual visits for a variety of illnesses.
